The Obsidian Compass is a functional work of art exploring orientation, balance and the quiet wisdom of returning to oneself. Rather than pointing toward a destination, its concentric geometry invites a return to the place from which all meaningful journeys begin—the centre.

Entirely handcrafted in Bulgaria from reclaimed solid wood, the tabletop is painted by hand with concentric circles of deep black and luminous gold. The composition is framed by natural Obsidian stones, carefully positioned as quiet anchors within the design, while an original language of light unfolds across the surface through hand-painted symbolic markings.

Within the symbolic language of this artwork, Obsidian represents radical honesty and the courage to see oneself without illusion. It is chosen as a reminder to look beyond the voice of the ego and return to clarity, presence and inner truth. Rather than offering direction outward, the table gently invites a deeper orientation inward.
